A native room has a primary platform
A room configured for Microsoft Teams Rooms provides the Teams room interface. A Zoom Rooms installation provides the Zoom room interface. The controller reflects that environment; certification for both platforms does not imply two independent native room applications available side by side.
Joining meetings on another platform
Supported third-party guest join can allow a room to join meetings hosted on another service. Availability and features depend on the room platform, device, software, settings and invitation. Do not assume the same content sharing, camera layouts or controls as a native meeting.

Use a laptop for a familiar application
In supported BYOD mode, the laptop runs the meeting application and uses the room camera, microphones and speakers. Check the USB-C connection, laptop compatibility, charging and display sharing separately. Test with the actual company laptops.
Choose a workflow for employees and guests
- Choose a native room when the organisation has a clear primary platform and wants meetings started from the panel.
- Consider BYOD when visitors use different applications and prefer their own laptop.
- For mixed use, confirm the exact switching procedure and supported capabilities before deployment.
